TJ's Party
Mom shared some pictures she took at TJ's birthday party, so here are some of each of our photos...
The cake tasted as good as it looked!
Here's TJ dressed up like a little cowboy sheriff.
Coker and TJ rode together
Yep, we rode horses up and down the street in our neighborhood. Teresa's leading Paul's horse and Coker is leading Alec's horse.
TJ's proud of his new crayons. I like this funny shot of him.
This is the amazing birthday cake that inspired the cowboy theme. It's made to look like "Cowie," TJ's favorite stuffed animal. You can see more of Tammi's amazing cakes at http://luckeycakes.com/LuckeyCakes/Luckey_Cakes.html She even has Cowie in the gallery on her website.

Helper Baby
TJ is my helper baby. He brings his shoes if I mention that we’re going somewhere. He loves to sweep anytime I sweep or mop or vacuum. He even tries to help load and unload the dishwasher. (I have to be quick to keep the knives out of his reach.)
A quick way to get him out of a tantrum is to ask him to bring something. Coker asked him to bring a book this evening as I tried to make dinner with a crying baby underfoot. He stopped crying immediately and went to the cabinet to choose a book.
This does not mean TJ is a neat freak. After our spaghetti dinner, we ate popsicles outside with the sprinkler running to rinse our sticky boys as they ate. Of course, TJ helped me pick up the popsicle sticks after he and Paul finished playing with them.

Baby Talk
TJ is brilliant. He can talk. His best-enunciated word is “cookie.” “Mine” is also very clear. His other words include: mama, dada, Paul, ball (which is very difficult to differentiate from Paul – I use context), cow (which means any animal except dog), dog, TJ, and car.
He’s also a whiz with pointing. Yesterday, he told me, “Dada failed to change my diaper when he got me up.” I learned this from one point, which emphatically indicated his bulging diaper. Today, he told me, “I’m really thirsty and I want to drink out of the cars cup with a straw.” This statement took a series of gestures to indicate pick me up, go from the bedroom into the kitchen, open the cabinet and get the prized cup.
I love Timothy’s baby talk, which must really mean something. He’ll make sure to catch my eye, sometimes by placing his hand on my face before he carefully speaks in his own language. Every time he does this, I wish to be quick enough record his sweet voice to play back over and over.
