Conversation with TJ
A true Roswell, TJ has a conversation starter. Once introductions have been made or if he feels there is a lull in the conversation, he says, "this is my mama." He motions to me, his treasure. Every time he does this, I want to sweep him up and tell him that he's my treasure.
I've also heard him say, "this is my Paul," and, "this is my Amina." Sorry dad! Maybe there just aren't any lulls in your conversations.

Little Sir Echo
Mom reminded me of a game my aunt played with me when I was little. I don’t know if my Aunt Maeda invented “Little Sir Echo,” but as far as I'm concerned, she did. TJ is at the perfect Little Sir Echo stage. He repeats the last couple of words anyone says. Here’s the formula (singing is required – you can call for the tune):
Me: Little Sir Echo
TJ: Sir Echo
Me: How do you do?
TJ: You do
We all giggle.
Me: Little Sir Echo
TJ: Sir Echo
Me: How do you do?
TJ: You do

TJ's Song
TJ enjoyed the State Fair so much he felt like singing on the way home...
Sorry I don't know how to do the bouncing ball thing, but I'll try to translate. "To you, bye bye, bye bye, at house, at McDonald's, ????, I did it (6 times)" I'm not really sure what he's celebrating having accomplished, but he'll break into this song at Paul's suggestion. Finally, he's tired at goes to the thumb.

Baby Talk
TJ is brilliant. He can talk. His best-enunciated word is “cookie.” “Mine” is also very clear. His other words include: mama, dada, Paul, ball (which is very difficult to differentiate from Paul – I use context), cow (which means any animal except dog), dog, TJ, and car.
He’s also a whiz with pointing. Yesterday, he told me, “Dada failed to change my diaper when he got me up.” I learned this from one point, which emphatically indicated his bulging diaper. Today, he told me, “I’m really thirsty and I want to drink out of the cars cup with a straw.” This statement took a series of gestures to indicate pick me up, go from the bedroom into the kitchen, open the cabinet and get the prized cup.
I love Timothy’s baby talk, which must really mean something. He’ll make sure to catch my eye, sometimes by placing his hand on my face before he carefully speaks in his own language. Every time he does this, I wish to be quick enough record his sweet voice to play back over and over.
