Paul's 6th Birthday Party

Paul wanted a big party at a bounce house. OK, he really wanted a party at Chuck E. Cheese, but I can't deal with CEC on a Saturday. I talked him into a bounce house instead. TJ played upstairs by himself for a long time. It got very quiet, so I thought I'd better investigate. Here's what I found.

Paul the Socialite

I am behind in my planning duties, as usual. Paul's birthday is September 15, and he had to remind me to plan his birthday party. So I reserved a bounce place and chose the option with the most kids: 25. That sounds too big to me, but I know Paul. I sat down with a pen and paper and he named off 30 kids he wants to invite. That's after just 5 minutes and not including anyone from his kindergarten class. I wonder if I can reserve two parties?

He was a good sport when I asked if he would pose for a picture."Get this over with, mom!"
He would not pose for a picture in front of school, so I caught him off guard. He looks happy. Maybe just a little nervous.

Sutures and Changing Lives

Last week, TJ had an accident and had to get three stitches. I was at work and didn't know about any of it until it was all over, but I hear he was very brave. Coker tells me that the doctor warned him that the shot to numb his face would hurt, and that he should count to five. TJ got to three and started to giggle. He went through the whole ordeal without crying or screaming.

Today, I took TJ back to have the stitches removed. He was very calm and still while the nurse took them out. She commented on how good he had been, and the doctor said that some of his staff had decided that it would be OK to have children after all, based on how good TJ was. What a compliment!

In Wonderland

We visited the Gaylord with Coker's Uncle David and Aunt Joanne. We had lunch and strolled through Wonderland. Here, we met the Queen of Hearts. She required that we bow or curtsy before taking the picture.This is a giant flower. TJ was a little worried about getting so close.
Paul is less than enthused about posing in front of this pocket watch.
Paul did like the white rabbit, though TJ was too scared to get in the picture.
